In the beginning it was just a casual talk in a hotel lobby in Dusseldorf, Germany but suddenly it was all about UV light and health.

Apparently the counterpart was the organizer of the German Section of the World Youth Day in Sydney.

Since UV light, the sun and the therefore caused dangers are well known in Australia, various concepts were designed after the conversation. R&M Wegener has been working with cloth providing UV protection. In the current collections for men, women and kids these qualities can braodly be seen.

For the World Youth Day in Sydney a certain model was selected and 6000 hats are produced with the official “World Youth Day Sydney 2008″ logo.

New catalogues are available for Autumn/Winter 2007/08 for all product categories.

As of today R&M Wegener uses the Domain wegener.org for all its e-mail communication. This change was conducted to prevent misunderstandings (headware, hatwear, etc.) in the first place. Furthermore wegener.org has a higher recognisibility and leads to better search results on Google. Please use from now on only e-mail addresses ending with @wegener.org. Starting in June 2007 R&M Wegener will produce a great variety of both summer and winter headwear for bugatti. Besides high-quality baseball caps a new selection of forms and design will be established. bugatti-headwear will be available in stores in autumn 2007. The distribution of all headwear and accessories will be managed through the showroom in hall 29 in Duesseldorf and the sales representatives of R&M Wegener.

With the headwear produced by R&M Wegener bugatti is able to complement its selection of accessories as the brand is already licencer for ties, shirts, umbrellas, leather accessories, various textiles, underwear, belts, socks, shoes, trousers and bags.

Wegener attracts attention towards currents risks of the weather via two new campaigns – “UV ScHUTz” (UV protection) and “Windchill Factor”. Through global warming during summer the body, especially the head, are extremely confronted with sun and its dangerous UV light.

During winter the problem of facing the windchill factor arise meaing that the temperature felt by the body is much lower than the real temperature. This can be the cause for a cold, headaches and fever.

On the 17.05.2004 at 11 o’clock while having a press-conference the Nacional Olympic Comitee (NOK) presented the dress of the German olympic-team 2004 in Düsseldorf. Beside the big sponsors like ADIDAS, Bäumler and Betty Barclay R&M Wegener aswell was there showing their hats for the athlets. Hans Th. Wegener, Manager, received from the NOK-President Dr. Steinbach the certificate of being official outfitter.

The brand new new bugatti catalogue can now be found under the catalogue section on the left side.

We still remember the olympic games 2000 in Sydney when the german national team was waving the flag while entering the stadium. The hats its members were wearing came from Lauterbach/Germany – from Wegener-Headwear. This year Hans Th. Wegener after a few meeting with the NOK (National Olympic Comitee) got the order and so the hats for the olympic team 2004 in Athen after Tokio 1968, Seoul 1988, Barcelona 1992, Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000 will be produced again by Wegener.

On 18.10.2002 it was time to celebrate 185 years of Wegener. All co-workers, customers and the Wegener-family was present. It started off at 7pm. Everybody was very impressed by the huge variety of animations and as a matter of fact, everybody had really much fun this evening.
